Welcome!

Safe Land for Bees aims to create awareness of the crisis for bees (both wild and honey bees) and the issues facing them, and to create a network of land where bees can live safely and thrive.

We also campaign for:
  • The establishment of pesticide and herbicide free areas, and a government ban on neonicotinoids and pesticides.
  • The maintenance and creation of areas which are wild and/ or with a range of habitats and plants suitable for bees.
  • Robust regulation of mobile phone masts and other microwave radiation, and free public access to information about where the masts are.
  • Education about, and the widespread adoption of, sustainable bee-keeping practises.

Things you can do:
You can help make any land you have, from a window box or garden to an allotment or farm, safe for bees by:
  • Avoiding pesticides.
  • Having a variety of bee friendly plants. For example, natives to the UK, wild flowers, single or open flowers, and a range of flowers throughout the year.
  • Keeping some areas wild and having nesting areas.
  • Where possible, minimising mobile phone use or keeping mobile phones switched off near bees.
